Stop Your Hair From Falling Out- End Female Thinning Hair

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Female thinning hair is actually a common problem, but is always upsetting for the woman concerned. Most often, the amount of hair thinning and loss can be stopped to an extent. Usually, a women's hair thinning and loss pattern is  somewhat different to a man's. Hair loss is more common in women over fifty years of age and follows a different pattern. Women's biggest worry is not knowing how long the hair loss problem will last and whether or not the hair loss is temporary. Any time you have medical concerns, it is critical to seek a doctor's advice and guidance. Hair loss and thinning may be a sign of a more serious medical problem.

Hormonal imbalance can cause hair loss. Sometimes a woman's body can become too sensitive to male hormones called androgens. Often, the hair follicles in a woman's scalp can be affected by the extra hormones. Women and men can each experience this hormonal imbalance but the affects vary. Women don't often undergo total hair loss from their scalps as men often do. There are three most common types of hair loss for women, and all involve a general hair thinning, although it can sometimes happen on a certain part of the head. Stop Hair Thinning

Women's hair thinning and loss can be caused by other problems. One of these issues is known as trichotillomania. This is a mental health issue which causes a woman to pull out her hair compulsively. Trichotillomania causes a woman to have a patchy, spotted scalp. Stopping this problem is much easier with psychological treatment.

There is an autoimmune disorder called alopecia areata that can also result in serious hair loss in women. Some cases of alopecia areata may also result in total baldness.

Triangular alopecia can begin at a young age and also cause hair loss and thinning. The actual cause of triangular alopecia hasn't been decided, but there is medication available to treat it.

Use extra care with products for hair loss if you are prone to allergies. Shampoos and other hair loss treatments may contain high chemical concentrations. Hair thinning can be aggravated by excess chemicals. Hair products that contain natural ingredients are better for your scalp, hair and health overall.

Dying and coloring hair can be rough on the scalp and give the impression of hair thinning and loss. Dye treatments can damage your hair. If you insist on dyeing your hair, try to use only the softest products.

Women’s Hair Loss Prevention Tips

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Avoidance of thinning hair in women is not as complicated as it may perhaps look.  Merely roughly 2% of the female population suffers from severe factors of female thinning hair that has to be treated medically with drugs. Hair loss remedy for the bulk of women is regularly as uncomplicated as following some fundamental hair loss prevention techniques that have to do with combing, shampooing and hair conditioning.

The basis of any preventive measures with respect to hair loss for women is  an awareness of the basic anatomy of the hair itself. The surface bed of each hair  barb, called the cuticle, is made up of overlapping, scale-like cells. If the hair is  cared for kindly and the appropriate balance of moisture and oils in addition acidity is kept up,  these cells stretch out flat, and the hair shaft is velvety and glossy. If the cuticle becomes dry,  broken, or frayed away, the hair is dim, dead, and unmanageable. The sun, hot  appliances, teasing, coloring, straightening, or a lasting wave all tend to break down the hair’s cuticle. Appropriate looking after helps prolong healthy hair.

Tip #1: Brushing
Brush your hair once or twice daily, above all prior to shampooing, to circulate scalp  oils and to prevent hair tangling. The rougher and denser your hair is, the stiffer the brush  bristles should be. They may be nylon, plastic, or natural, but should have  rounded tips and smooth shafts. To comb properly, bend at the waist and delicately and slowly move the brush through your hair from the nape of the neck frontwards. This protects  the more fragile hair at the crown of your head and around your face.

Tip #2: Applying shampoo
If you shampoo your hair every day, lather hair just one time (twice, if the hair is exceedingly oily or scalp is  sweaty) and add a conditioner to it. With less frequent washing, the common example is to lather twice.  Shampoo cleanses with a mixture of detergents and water; any additional components such as  herbs, protein, beer, or oils may give a agreeable aroma or feel, improve  manageability, or enhance shine. Whether advertised so or not, virtually all shampoos are pH  balanced to guard the cuticle. The most effective method to shampoo is in the shower with your  back to the water spray. Soak your hair thoroughly, lather the shampoo between your hands,  and apply it to your hair and scalp. Do not stack your hair on the top of your head; instead,  begin with a scalp massage, using the balls of your fingers, not your nails, then work the  shampoo down the hair strands. When lathering is done, wash off your hair over and over again  until it feels free of shampoo, then wash off yet again. Lift parts of long hair to be sure the water spray gets through underneath.

Tip #3: Conditioning
Conditioners make hair more controllable by eliminating the electric charges caused by shampooing and combing: scores of types also have oils, proteins, and silicone to  enhance shininess. Review conditioner labels and experiment to find out which is acceptable for  your hair. Put on a conditioner after each shampoo, according to label information. Wash  well. If your hair is prone to be oily, condition merely the ends. If your hair is fine and  also oily, try conditioning just before applying shampoo. Dry your hair by patting (not rubbing)  on a towel. Disentangle wet hair with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, beginning with the ends and moving backwards in the direction of the the scalp. Do not brush fragile wet hair! Air dry your hair as often as convenient; then use a hair dryer, curlers, or a curling iron solely for finishing up.

Carefully abiding by these fundamental hair loss treatment for women prevention tips will help to stop, or at least slow down, most of the normal causes of female thinning hair.

Losing your hair can be a devastating experience

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

A full, healthy head of hair is a sign of youth and if yours begins to thin it can be the first sign that you are maturing.  For some people they view it as a sign of older age setting in and the effects are not only cosmetic but psychological as well.

Hair loss can be stopped.  If you are looking for a cure for hair loss you’ll need to decide on which technique is best for you and your particular situation.

One cause of hair loss is a poor diet. Therefore it would seem obvious that the cure for hair loss in this case is to adjust the diet. If a person is not eating healthy every part of their body will be impacted, including the hair.

[ Cure for hair loss]

There are some vitamins and minerals that are essential to healthy hair and if you eat foods that are rich in them, you’ll have the most natural cure for hair loss.

Some of those important elements are Vitamin C, all the B Vitamins and essential fatty acids.  Although these can all be taken in a supplement form, the body absorbs them better if they are consumed through food.

Changing your diet to incorporate these elements can have an impact on your thinning hair.  As you adapt to these dietary changes you can also include more water in your diet.  Water is important in the growth and maintenance of healthy hair and drinking a full eight glasses of water each day is also a good cure for hair loss.

There are plenty of prescribed medicines that claim that they are a great cure for hair loss. Some would be in pill or capsule form and taken internally. However, most would be in cream and lotion forms that are applied to the person’s scalp directly to help stimulate the growth of hair.

It’s important to consult with a physician who understands that biology of hair loss.  He or she will first need to determine what the underlying cause of the hair loss is.  From there, they can effectively prescribe a treatment for it.

If you have ever seen a television commercial late into the night, then you would have seen the infomercials that advertise a cure for hair loss. Most of the time, you’ll find them advertising models with before and after pictures and sometimes it’s easy to get convinced that they work and soon enough you find yourself wanting to start treatment right away.

Even if most of these products do work, some of them don’t. The best way for you would be to consult a professional find the cause of the problem. This way, you can find the right cure for hair loss.

Female Hair Loss Treatment - Causes, Treatment, and Prevention

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Hair loss in women is a lot more common than most people think. Though women are not as vulnerable as men to hair loss, quite a few women suffer from hair loss due to various reasons. Let us take a look at the common causes of hair loss in women and some female hair loss treatment options available.

Common causes

The top causes of hair loss in women include stress and hormones. When it comes to hormonal hair loss it is the hormone dht (dihydrotestosterone) that is the culprit.  When it comes to stress induced hair loss it is usually a traumatic event or pregnancy or after child birth that brings it on.  The third biggest cause is vitamin deficiency, so the best treatment for women would be one that addresses all three issues.

Hormonal hair loss - Testosterone is created in both men and women, which then creates a hormone called dht (dihydrotestosterone). If your hair loss is a genetic problem then you are more then likely sensitive to dht. The end result is you will start to lose your hair which will lead to pattern baldness.

To prevent this you need to find a way to stop the production of dht. A fantastic way of doing that is to take a herbal dietary supplement on a regular basis. Particularly, supplements that contain powerful herbs like horsetail can help fight hair loss immensely. This is one of the best female hair loss treatment options available today.

Stress induced hair loss - Dealing with stress is not easy but it is not impossible either.  Studies have shown that partaking in some kind of physical activity and doing some form of meditation can help a person with stress. Having a positive attitude and eating healthy also help.

Taking a dietary supplement that has Vitamin B-6, also known as the ‘womens vitamin’ can go along way as well in helping you deal with stress.  It improves your ability to ‘handle’ stress better and it helps with pms as well as help prevent any further hair loss caused by stress. This is an effective female hair loss treatment which can prevent stress induced hair loss in women to a great extent.

Vitamin deficiency hair loss - If you think your deficient in vitamins you can add more fruit, vegetables, whole grains, eggs and fish to your diet.  Fish is an excellent food that promotes hair growth. A healthy diet plays an important role in a female hair loss treatment. So, you should make sure your diet is rich in minerals like zinc and magnesium which are essential for hair growth. Taking a quality supplement that contains the herbs, vitamins and minerals talked about in the article will go a long way in helping your hair loss problems.

You should be aware that if you are taking any prescription drugs or have any diseases like diabetes could be the reason for your hair loss so consult your doctor first. Before taking any treatment you should know the cause of the problem first.
